What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a collagen biostimulator made of poly-L-lactic acid. It is not a filler. It encourages your skin to make its own collagen, so firmness and volume improve gradually.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people have a course of two or three sessions, a few weeks apart. Dr Tania plans the number with you at your consultation.
When will I see results?
Results develop gradually over the weeks and months after your course, as your own collagen builds. It is a slow, natural change rather than an instant one.
How long does Sculptra last?
Because it works through your own collagen, results are long-lasting. In studies they have lasted up to around two years. Everyone is different.
Is there any aftercare?
Yes. We show you how to massage the treated area for a few days after each session, which helps an even result. You'll get written aftercare advice.
Sculptra or filler: which is right for me?
Filler restores volume straight away in a specific area. Sculptra works more slowly and more broadly, improving skin quality and support. Many mature faces benefit from one, the other, or both. That is what the consultation is for.
